experimental Combat TV Field Unit--(feasibility).
Was
TDY (domestically and overseas) most of time which included
stint at Cape Canaveral-Air Force (no NASA then) supporting
Range Safety-the group responsible for "command-destruct" of all
our launch vehicles at that time. Using closed-circuit TV
and Portable Microwave, it was the first time Central Control
could actually visually see the all the launch platforms (and
launches) at the Cape. One could also say it was the prercusor
of ENG(s) and later SNG(s) vehicles.
