The Subway Soldier: John Muuss wrote, "SP/4 John Muuss, January 1960 to August 1961, still photographer. "In July of 1960 sent on TDY (temporary duty) to Mass. Nike sites to develop photo instrumentation on radar. "In Aug 1961 received orders to Korea. "Since my home was Elmhurst, Long Island, I lived at home and commuted by subway each day I was assigned to APC. They called me the subway soldier.
